Hello from Third Grade!
My name is Maria Procopio and I am excited to be teaching at OLPH, the school from which I graduated! Some of the current teachers at OLPH taught me when I attended here. What a reunion…and a testament to the joy of teaching at this great school!
Since I was a young child, I have always wanted to be a teacher. You can ask my parents and they will describe how my siblings and I would play school in a “classroom” we set up in our basement. I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville where I majored in Education and received a minor in Theology. I loved every minute of school, but my two favorite semesters were studying abroad in Gaming, Austria and student
teaching in Steubenville, Ohio.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy playing tennis (I coach the J.V. team at MDSA), reading, and baking. My favorite color is pink. I like vacationing on the beach but love traveling in Italy even more.
I am excited to share my love of learning and the Lord with the children who have been entrusted to my care during this school year. I am humbled to have been called to lead them in their academic and spiritual development.
