Faith Focus for Chapter 5:
- The Mass is the Church's most important form of worship (CCC 1343).
- In the Mass, the Church remembers what Jesus did at the Last Supper (CCC 1341).
"Singing is praying twice." St. Augustine
We started off chapter 5 learning about joyful praise. We can praise God through song and dance. At the time the psalms were written, dance was an acceptable form of worship. Dance was not a performance, rather a way of glorifying God. Church members celebrate the Mass together, just like we celebrate special occasions with our family members. This is a great way to celebrate the joy of belonging to God's community.
The saint we will be studying for this chapter is St. Cecilia. The chapter 5 test will be on Tuesday (12/10).
