Wow. Ash Wednesday is tomorrow. How appropriate is it that we are learning about Jesus' sacrifice? Our last chapter dealt with spreading the gospel, the good news. What is the good news? The good news is that God loves YOU so much that He saved YOU from the power of sin and everlasting death. He did that for you and me. Even if there was only one person who had sinned, Jesus would have died for him. He loves us that much! We give thanks for this sacrifice by celebrating the Eucharist.
Jesus made the greatest sacrifice of all, but we too are called to make sacrifices to show God's love. Have you decided what you are going to sacrifice for Lent as we prepare for the Easter season? If you need some fresh ideas check out: Catholic All Year.
As we enter into Lent, we will study the Paschal Mystery - the suffering, death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Christ. This mystery celebrates God's power to bring light from darkness
