In Unit 2, we learned about the mystery of the Blessed Trinity - one God in three persons, united in love. We worship the Trinity when we gather for liturgy or during personal prayer. The students had an opportunity to put their faith into action, taking into account what they learned about God hearing our every prayer. After finishing their test, they searched the Bible for a passage that they felt would give strength to someone battling cancer. The students wrote these Scripture verses with promises of prayer on slips of paper, so lovingly decorated, to send to Mr. Paul Coakley and his family (you can read part of his story here: http://eternalsongfamily.blogspot.com). Sadly, Paul has finished his battle on earth and was welcomed into God's loving arms. However, our prayers for Paul and for all of our daily class intentions do not go unanswered. As the crucifix reminds us, Jesus promises eternal life. He takes our brokenness and makes us new.
