Taking a break from our Treasures book, we have been reading Muggie Maggie. This book is about a third grade student who does not want to learn cursive. Many of the students can related to Maggie, as I am now requiring that they write in cursive...all the time. Though they might not think so, they are doing a wonderful job! I am loving how neat their work can be. Today we tested out some a new app that I found out about at the conference I attended this past Thursday and Friday. We used backchannel chat to discuss our favorite part of the book so far. With this app, students used their iPads to log in to a chat. Once they joined, they were able to communicate with the other students in our class. The students got a kick out of this! It was so cool watching how involved they were...and it was quiet! Silly comments were tolerated since this was their first time trying out this app, but the students have been warned for next time! :)
